IDC has released the numbers for smartphone shipments by vendor for Q4 2014. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Xiaomi is on top with a 13.7 percent market share in the fourth quarter — up from 6.5 percent over the previous year. However, Xiaomi’s gain is Samsung‘s loss, as the Korean manufacturer’s year-over-year growth was down 49.9 percent while Xiaomi’s grew by 150 percent.
